Discuss, parse, debunk, deconstruct a specific pseudoarchaeological case (either drawn from your readings, our discussions, or popular media – of which there are many, many examples).  Use the tools that we’ve already talked about (motivations, how to assess a claim, etc) in your discussion.

Final Exam

  • The final exam is take home – details will be posted to the course website (on the top of the front page) at least a week and a half before the due date. The exam is due on Wednesday, April 30th (by 5pm).

Engaged Archaeology Projects

  • Due no later than 3pm on Wednesday, April 30th.  If your project has a physical component (ie. something you need to hand in), drop it off in my MATRIX office (Natural Sciences 412).  The final blog post of the semester (which will be due on Wednesday, April 30th by 5pm) will be a description and discussion of your Engaged Archaeology Project.  If your project is digital (website, etc) please be sure to put the link in the post.  If your project is digital (but not something that lives online), you need to get it to me by the deadline (by other means – which we can talk about if need be).  If this is the case, you still need to post your project description/discussion.

Bonus Blog Post

  • Bonus blog post (worth 3% of final grade)  Doesn’t require a response at all.  Post will be due Friday, April 25th by 5pm.  In the blog post, address the following question: “Why does archaeology matter to you?”
