ANP203H – Intro to Archaeology

ANP203H – Introduction to Archaeology will provide students with a basic introduction to archaeology, the study of human culture through material objects. This course will cover topics relating to basic archaeological methods, archaeological theory, the history of archaeology, learning about and identifying artifacts, archaeological sub-fields, and the contemporary importance of archaeology through public engagement. Through this course, students will learn what archaeology is and why it is important to our understanding of the past (and present). Students will also gain an appreciation for how archaeologists conduct their research, and how they draw conclusions about the past and human culture.
