Blog Post (Due 8/13): Select a national or global case of a non-violent social movement from the last 40 years (please discuss a case which you have not blogged about previously). What were the techniques and goals of this movement, and which groups (e.g. religious, racial, etc.) participated? What kind of future would you envision if the movement had been violent? What images/symbols of protest were utilized? Please include a link for your example.
Blog post comments (Due 8/17): Have you seen a similar tactic of non-violence in another social movement? Are there similar images or techniques of non-violence (e.g. sit-ins, protests, hunger strikes, etc.) that are common in another, unrelated non-violent social movement?
