For this class, I decided to choose Malaysia as the country that I like to make report. Malaysia is a small developing country located in Southeast Asia. It was known a multicultural country with different ethnic groups which included Malays, Chinese, Indians, and other indigenous Bumiputra groups. Having multiethnic living together, make me curious on how their health belief especially in traditional medicine since it related to their belief.

According to WHO, the total population in 2016 is 31,187,000 with the life expectancy at birth of 75 years. The growth rate of population is 2% from 1990 to 2015 and predicted to be 1.2% from 2015 to 2030. Other than that, there are decreasing of crude death rate ā€“ from 7 in 1970 to 5 in 2015 ā€“ and also in crude birth rate ā€“ from 33 in 1970 to 17 in 2015. The GNI per capita of this country is $11,120 in 2014. Then, it keeps decreasing until $9,810 in 2017. However, there are recorded of increasing in the of 2018 which is $10,043. The GDP of the country is $314.5 billion in the year of 2017. Based on the information from WHO, the total expenditure on health as % of GDP in the year of 2014 is 4.2%.

Besides that, I actually impress with the maternal care for the mother especially during delivery care. There are 99% in both skilled attendant at birth and also in institutional delivery in the year of 2010-2015. Alongside with that, the ratio of maternal mortality is 1:1200. We can see that how important the care that given to the mother in ensure the life.
