  1. Hi! For our activity posts as well as blog posts, do those go under the class blog tab? Do we just create a new entry through wordpress or is there someplace we have to turn in the activity posts?

  2. Hi Paulotka,

Thank you for your question! You will be posting both blog and activity posts under Class Blog. When you go to that heading click “Get started right here” and it’l take you to a new page that will allow you to create a new post. You’ll write your post there and when you’re done you’ll click on categories and assign it to activity, blog post or introductory post before you submit it. If this doesn’t make sense in the pre-week one section of schedule there is a step by step tutorial on how to log in and how to post on wordpress.

    I hope this helps!

  3. Hello! I have been searching for a while, and have been unable to find the post with the videos for this week. Could you please direct me to where I am supposed to find these videos, I feel like I am not looking in the right places. Thanks!

    • I’m not sure if this will help, but if you look under the schedule tab and select week one there should be a list of assignments, including lecture videos, readings, and films. Hope this helps!

    • Hi Jayant,
Sydney is right! If you put your cursor over the schedule heading and scroll down to week one you’ll be able to access the videos and content for this week. If you click on schedule it’ll just give you the schedule for the entire semester.

  4. Hello,
I was reviewing the activity assignment for week, and I am a little confused on the requirements. Are we supposed to use three sources in the post, or are you referring to the final blog post? Also, does the source you provided with country statistics count towards the three sources?
    Thanks.

    • Hi Sydney,
You are supposed to have three sources for the activity assignment this week. You can use those same sources later for your final project, but you don’t have to. Also the country statistics website does not count as a source for the activity post, but you can use it to select a country you might be interested in writing about.

  5. Hello once again! I might have double clicked twice and have exited the blurb on d2L that had all of the paragraphs of instructions and more importantly the password to all of our videos, is there any way you can make that appear on d2L again? Thanks!

    • Hi Jayant,

If you go to course home you should still be able to see it in the announcements. It also should be in an email that I sent to everyone in the class.

  6. Hi! I was curious if any of the activity posts had been graded yet as mine are still showing as 0s on D2L and wanted to make sure it wasn’t just me.

    • Hi Katie, I’m not sure what happened but your first two activity posts were not visible in the class blog for some reason. I was able to find them in your user submission though, and I’ve updated it. If you notice this happening again, please let me know.

  7. Hello, I was wondering if for the Activity Post this week, it was mentioned that we are only allowed to choose one news article and the rest must be academic. However, if I don’t want to include a news article, could I just use academic articles only? And is it three minimum in total, or four?

    Thank you!
    Chloe Geary

    • I will never mark you down for only using academic sources, even if the prompt asks for news or popular sources. As for the total amount of references, it was supposed to be four, I know that it is a bit late for this answer.

  8. Hello,

I can’t find the email you sent out before the class started, but where can I find the break down of points and their respective grades?

    Thanks,
    Sydney Kist

    • If you click on assignments and grading (don’t click on anything in the drop down, just the assignments and grading button) you’ll be able to see your grade breakdown and the total points and weight of the assignments.
