Three words that describe me are smart, adventurous, and reserved.
These words according to my own culture are often not typical of my gender. Most women of my family and my culture are stay at home house mothers who often did not attend school past High School. As I am myself pursuing a degree above that of a High School diploma, it is apparent that I myself am standing outside of the norm for my families cultural beliefs. Usually once a woman graduates from High School amongst the women of my culture, we become housewives and our husbands work outside of the house.
I am adventurous because I like to try to do things that are not so typically common in my family. The idea of going to college often scared many of the women in my family and it kept them from going any further in their education. I am not afraid to get rejected or turned down. I am not afraid to do something wrong. Our mistakes are what make us who we are and the gender in my own culture are afraid to step outside of the box and make some mistakes.
The last thing that I am is reserved. This is a typical thing of my culture. We believe that sex is something that you wait to do until marriage. It is important in our culture to keep yourself pure for whoever your future husband should be. This is a very respectable trait amongst us and I intend to keep it that way. While I am reserved though it does not take away my adventurous side. Being reserved and adventurous are two different things. You can be one and still be the other.
