Biographical Info

Jeff Chivis is a doctoral candidate and a member of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi.His dissertation focuses on identifying passive and active displays of identity from ceramics, the formation and maintenance of social boundaries on multiple spatial scales, and the variable types of interactions occurring during the Middle Woodland period (~150 B.C. – A.D. 400) in west Michigan.Educational Background:Michigan State University, Anthropology, M.A. 2009Grand Valley State University, Anthropology, B.S. 2004
