I found this website when we started chapter 5. It’s a video going into detail of the first primates and what they might have been. I found it to be an interesting video that tied in closely with what we still don’t know about where we come from.
Out of the many topics covered over this course, one that peaked my interest the most was the similarities between the human genetic makeup and a chimps. This prompted me to do a little extra research on the topic. I found this article which states that human and chimps are slightly further apart than the typical 1%-2% people are familiar with. The article also states that the difference is closer to 6% and explains the reasoning behind it. This ties into the course very nicely and may shed a little bit more insight as to how long ago it was that humans and chimps were considered the same species. Overall I felt this article was informative but at the same time very clear and concise.
