Introductory Post

Hello classmates and Livy, my name is Reagan Young. I am a Women’s and Gender Studies Major, as well as a Pre-Medical Student. I also have a Minor in Health Promotion. I am from Southfield, Michigan, but I have relocated to Canton, Michigan recently. I am a rising junior, or a third year. Outside of class, I tend to be extremely lazy, but I am working on going out more and hanging out, but when I do go out, I enjoy finding new places to eat, doing something with nature, or just simply being with friends, playing video games. A fun fact about myself is that I really love fashion and exploring all kinds of styles and even piecing outfits together every once and a while, basically being a stylist. I also enjoy doing makeup and immersing myself into the world of skincare. Something I hope to gain or learn from this course is to learn more about Biomedical methods, especially in terms of reproductive health and the pregnancy process. I plan to go to medical school for Gynecology, so being able to learn and understand methods and different cultural beliefs about pregnant women will be extremely important to me.

  1. Hi Reagan! Welcome to the class!
For some reason your extra credit post got uploaded in a strange way. I can only see one line at a time. If this happens again I would suggest you contact anphelp@msu.edu because it’s quite hard to read.
We probably won’t go over specific examples of reproductive technology used in biomedical practices. However, we will be looking at “Alternative” birthing practices from other medical systems in week 3. If you are specifically interested in this technology and information please message me and I can get you some information.
