If I were to test the hypothesis that pyramid building was introduced into Egypt either by aliens or citizens of Atlantis or some other super advanced lost civilization, I would look at the artifacts on and around the pyramids in Egypt. If it was true that pyramid building in Egypt was introduced by aliens or some super advanced lost civilization, the archaeological record would most likely have artifacts that could not be explained by historical or cultural context, possibly be of a material that is not identifiable, and structurally not explainable. Along with these, the archaeological record would have an abrupt shift in technology: possibly from more primitive tools to drastically advanced objects and artifacts. While if this were the archaeological record it could possibly support the hypothesis, this is not the archaeological record of pyramid construction in Egypt. The actual archaeological record has in depth recordings of the technology and math used to make the pyramids and shows this technology had to have existed and progressed naturally before the construction of Egyptian pyramids. All of the found artifacts have historical context within Egyptian culture and mortuary customs. Because of the historical context given to all of the artifacts and structures surrounding and from the pyramids in Egypt, the hypothesis that pyramid building was introduced into Egypt by either aliens or some super advanced lost civilization can not be back by legitimate evidence or explanation.

If I were to test the hypothesis that Atlantis was a super advanced civilization that existed ca. 10,000 years ago from which the Maya and ancient Egyptians defused, I would look from similarities in structures and artifacts between both places that could not be explained by historical context. The archaeological record of this hypothesis would have artifacts between the two civilizations that show the advancements progress at the same time. This archaeological record would show that each civilization got the advancements at a similar timeframe which would suggest that some other civilization introduced these technologies to them. The record would also show artifacts and structures that are similar and almost identical between the two civilizations. This could show that they both gained information on the structures, artifacts, and technologies from the same origin civilization. The legitimate historical archaeological record of the rise and development of these civilizations happened during different time periods with no communication between the two civilizations. The structures between the two civilizations have architectural differences and differences between the cultural meaning of the structures. The archaeological record that has been found by legitimate and scholarly archaeologists do not suggest that these advances or any similarities that have been found between the civilizations have developed from a superior ancient civilization.
