In regards to the first hypothesis stating that aliens or Atlanteans (or potentially another super technologically advanced race) were the first to introduce pyramid building to the Egyptians has long been up for debate and speculation, though such arguments can be easily deconstructed. To begin, the archaeological footprint in regards to pyramid building would look vastly different than it does today. For starters, the archaeological records lack evidence of extremely advanced methods of construction as well as interaction (cultural diffusion) with other cultures. If another race/culture, whether it be extraterrestrial or not, were apart of the construction of the Great Pyramids of Giza, we would absolutely see the archaeological evidence of cultural diffusion. Without the presence of another race’s footprint in archaeological findings, we can conclude that the Egyptians constructed the pyramids through their own technological prowess. Pseudo-archaeologists often times argue that the Egyptians were lacking in resources to host workers and move such heavy items for the construction of the pyramids, though new evidence is showing that there was in fact a place in which Egyptian workers lived called Heit el-Ghurab. With each argument that pseudoscience has presented in consideration for aliens or advanced civilizations having constructed the Great Pyramids, logical and physical evidence continues to prove otherwise.
Touching on the second hypothesis, proving that the Egyptian and Mayan races sprung from the lost civilization of Atlantis would be difficult – even proving that Atlanteans were even real would be extremely hard. First and foremost, there is absolutely no archaeological evidence supporting the claim of the existence of an Atlantean society. Each piece of evidence that has been presented has been quickly disproved i.e. the Bimini Road which turned out to be a natural Igneous rock formation and not an ancient Atlantean road. The story of Atlantis was first borne through the stories of famous Greek philosopher, Plato. Plato created through literacy an advanced ‘model’ civilization in hopes those of his time would adapt as such. It is known that based on the geographical location which Plato gave us, “Atlanteans” are actually the Minoans. The Minoans were a populus of people that lived on the island of Crete. Plato viewed their way of life as advanced and inserted them into a fantastical story in hopes to show the world what a model society looked like. If the above claim did in turn prove to be true, the archaeological record would look very different. To begin, Plato gave the location of Atlantis. By now with today’s technology, sites and artifacts would have been recovered, proving the existence of Atlantis. But of course, this has not occurred. Moving onto the second claim that Mayan and Egyptian cultures came from the Atlantean race, the archaeological footprint would have shown some sort of cultural interaction. Similar beliefs, stories and ways of life were sure to have been shared, but it seems the only claim pseudo-archaeologists can find in common between the Maya and Egyptians are pyramid building.
