If it were true that aliens gave the technology of pyramid building to the ancient Egyptians there would be more evidence than the out of context, misinterpreted artifacts and ideas that pseudoarchaeologists currently use. For all of the “evidence” and “truths” that pseudoarchaeologists claim to have, it’s all explained by the actual archaeological context. The pyramids would need to have no explanation, no possibility outside of extraterrestrial help, yet we know how pyramids were constructed, we know what they were used for, and we know that people are the ones who built them. There are quarries for the stone, tool marks, even a worker’s village where people who built the pyramids lived. There are also many pyramids, dating across a wide span of time. If aliens helped build the pyramids it would make more sense that they would have sprung up from nothing, not been perfected across many earlier pyramids. Sometimes people also use geological claims, such as erosion, but these are also disproven easily using actual geological fact.
There should also be some sort of remnants of the aliens who visited, such as alien writing or technology, especially if they were so much more advanced than us. We find nothing that would indicate aliens have ever been here. There are no alien writings that have ever been found, not so much as an inscription on a single stone. We have also never found any sort of material at all. There has never been a piece of the space ships they supposedly used to visit us, no unimaginable and futuristic tools, no human tools crafted by anything other-worldly. There is not a scrap of trash ever found that belonged to the aliens who apparently came and gifted us this advanced knowledge.
It’s similar for the Atlantean culture. If it existed as some grand, advanced society why is there nothing at all to indicated it? There is no Atlantean writing or technology found in any other site. There are no cultural remains, no jewelry or beads, no burials. Even if the society was destroyed, sunk to the deepest darkest part of the ocean, if they were advanced there would have been some sign of them in other places, yet we find nothing at all.
This is even more telling if we entertain the idea that all cultures diffused from some fantastical Atlantean one. Why are the cultures themselves so distinct is that’s the case? Why aren’t their pyramids the same if they learned them from the same place. Why do you have to be a 100 year-old blind cat to see the “arches” as the same design? If the mother civilization was so advanced there should be some trace of it in all of the cultures it gave way to, and this is simply not the case.
I really liked reading your article! You are a very good writer and you brought up very valid points in your blog post. I particularly was glad that you mentioned the fact that if there were these advanced civilizations present to guide and inform the Egyptian and Mayan cultures, then there would most definitely be remnants of these societies in the archaeological record. You are right, if there were aliens who came down to pass on their wisdom, why do we not find pieces of their ships or trash from their visits. If there was a lost civilization of advanced Atlantian people, why do we not find cultural remains from them or their buildings or their people. It is pretty much common sense that if these things were to exist then we should find remnants of them, but too many people are under the assumption that the government and scientists are hiding evidence. There is always context that can help explain these “mysterious” civilizations, inventions, or discoveries. There is context behind the variation of the different pyramids, which would defuse the idea that one culture influenced societies all over the world. Like you mentioned, how can we believe that a civilization, so advanced in comparison to other societies at the time, just vanished with no trace at all.
