Pyramids of Atlantis?

If Pyramid building was introduced to Egypt by aliens or members of the Lost Civilization of Atlantis, the archaeological record would look very different than it does. Some of the common claims that Pyramidiots make about clues as to the presence of another civilization at the building of the pyramids is that there are no record of the pyramids being built or how they were built, there is no evidence of worker’s housing nearby, and that the Egyptians did not have the adequate tools to cut the limestone blocks that the pyramids are comprised of. Unfortunately, excavations of the sites at and around the pyramids have revealed that all of these things exist. Near the pyramids there are foundations and remains of buildings where the workers would have been housed, debunking the worker myth. There is written evidence of how, when, and why the pyramids were built and who they were built for. We know that through translation of Egyptian hieroglyphs, these pyramids were built as tombs for pharaohs, details of how they were built by Egyptian slaves, where they got the materials from, and how much they bought the materials for. All of this cannot possibly help the case of the Pyramidiots, because unlike how they like to claim, the building of the Pyramids is not a mystery. Finally, stone tools and simple things like rope had been previously developed by the Egyptians, and they knew full well how to use them and how to cute limestone blocks and transport them for many miles. All of these things are known and well documented in the archaeological record of the pyramids. Similarly, there is no known evidence for the existence of Atlantis. People who believe in the Atlantis myth often say that things that are similar among many different cultures look similar because they are all derived from the Atlanteans. They also say that there was a large leap in technology from the primitive cultures to our current state of technology, and that gap could have only been filled by one culture. Unfortunately, the archaeological record debunks all of these myths. There is evidence that the first humans migrated from one common ancestor, but that this was a lot earlier than the so-called Atlantis civilization existed, and that there is no evidence of migration out from any of the common places people like to claim Atlantis came from. Similar practices and buildings from different cultures, while they look similar in some cases, in most cases they don’t look very similar, and they were all for different purposes and used in different ways. Finally, there is a documented progression of technology that society has taken over time, with no gaps or incredible leaps. Ignorance of facts, context, and research is a key tool used by pseudoarchaeologists to further their “theories”, and any educated person can gather all the evidence and carefully debunk the powerful claims made by anyone who believes in other civilizations creating amazing buildings of the past, and anyone claiming hyperdiffusion is a valid theory.

  1. Wow, what a great read. I absolutely loved everything about your post and I felt like you really explained well the issues with pseudoarchaeologists and their interpretations of the past. My favorite part of your post was when you discussed the pyramids and rebuked the pyramidiot’s ideas surrounding their history. As you said, the building of the pyramids is not some giant mystery. Through hard work and scientific discovery, we know how the pyramids were built. Again, as you pointed out, we know that there were workers, tools, and purpose behind the building of the pyramids in Egypt. I like that you flat out state that many pseudoarchaeologists rely on ignorance to push their agendas because if people who aren’t scholars and academics don’t know all of the information about the building of the pyramids, it is easier for these fake scientists to mislead them and push their agendas. I really appreciate your post and how well you dashed the hopes of every pyramidiot out there. My hero!

  2. Also, I forgot to say but your point about Atlantis really came full circle too. If Atlantis actually was a place and if these hyperdiffusionist ideas were valid we would see it in the archaeological record. We would see documentation from these cultures about an ancestral super advanced culture with magic flying cars and nuclear bombs. Instead, we see that the record doesn’t show anything close to that. As you pointed out, we humans may have had a common ancestor but it was very much before any Atlantis ever existed.
