My name is Maysam Seif. I am a fourth year studying International and Global Studies with a concentration in Middle East Studies. I am also pursuing a degree in Material Science and Engineering with a concentration in biomaterials.

I am from West Bloomfield, Michigan. With my degrees, I do have to spend most of my time studying, but I have a bad habit of having Netflix running in the background. I am embarrassingly good at quoting entire scenes of The Office and it’s not even my favourite show. For the record, it’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I also have two cats and when I do have some spare time I like helping out at the capital humane society. I also love playing and watching soccer and I love Bayern Munich!

Something I’m hoping to learn more about in this class is the impact of sexism, and how that repeated stress, can impact health. And I hope to learn how that may change across cultures (likely your health may only be effected if you actually perceive sexism not whether an American does).
